It’s a bittersweet moment for Antony Starr as he wraps up over six years of bringing one of TV’s most unforgettable villains to life.
With The Boys officially concluding its fifth season, Starr took a moment to share a heartfelt farewell to the character that has shaped so much of his career.

“I love this show. And I love this character. I really do. I’m going to miss stepping onto set, knowing what we were aiming for, but never quite sure where the day would lead us — just that it would be a blast and creatively rewarding. This intricate character allowed me to explore and push boundaries in ways I never anticipated, and I’ll always cherish that experience.”
Starr referred to Homelander as the highlight of his career.
“When we started, I had no clue what was ahead. This powerhouse took off and never looked back. Well, except for that COVID pause… and the strikes. That was a new experience too. But aside from those two hiccups, it just kept rolling, leaving a significant impact on the television scene. There’s nothing else quite like it. It has a life of its own.”
He also expressed his gratitude to the cast, crew, creators, and especially the fans.
“You are the heartbeat of this show. We couldn’t have done it without you. Our fans are truly one of a kind. Sending you all my love… and deep respect for your amazing taste.”
Filming for season five has officially wrapped, with a premiere set for sometime next year. Meanwhile, the Boys universe is set to grow — season two of Gen V is coming this fall, and both The Boys: Mexico and the prequel Vought Rising are in the works.
