The iconic voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg will return to bring the beloved characters to life.
Fans of the Ice Age animated series have something to celebrate, as Disney and 20th Century Animation announced on Friday that Ice Age 6 is officially in production, according to Variety. This exciting update means fan-favorites like Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie will soon embark on a new adventure. Romano, Leguizamo, Latifah, Leary, and Pegg, who voiced the iconic characters in previous films, confirmed their return through a video announcement.
The last installment, Ice Age: Collision Course, was released in 2016 and earned $408.5 million globally. Since its debut in 2002, the Ice Age franchise has resonated strongly with audiences, though critics have been less favorable; the most recent film received an 18% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
While Disney has not yet announced a release date for Ice Age 6, this will mark the series’ first theatrical release under Disney’s management, following its acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s film division in 2019.
