A highly anticipated new character from the video game is set to join the storyline.

The creators of The Last of Us have announced that Season Two will premiere in April, as revealed during Sony’s conference in Las Vegas on Monday, according to Variety. Fans were treated to a dramatic teaser offering a glimpse of the upcoming season.

While the teaser confirms the April release, an exact date has not yet been provided. The footage teases intense scenes from the new season and introduces a new character.

Early in the teaser, viewers catch a glimpse of Abby, a pivotal figure in the video game. Though this marks her first appearance in the series, Abby plays a critical role in the game’s storyline.

“Set five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie find themselves grappling with personal conflicts while facing an even more dangerous and unpredictable world,” HBO describes of the new season.
