The highly anticipated sequel is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.

Fans of the legendary parody franchise Scary Movie can finally rejoice—its long-awaited sequel is officially in the works. Hollywood Reporter confirms that brothers Shawn and Marlon Wayans will return to the big screen with the sixth installment, scheduled for release on June 12, 2026. The announcement of the film’s production was first made during last year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

The screenplay for the upcoming sequel is being developed by the original creators—Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans. However, details about the film’s director and cast remain undisclosed, keeping fans in suspense.

“After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally giving fans what they’ve been asking for… a return to Scary Movie!” Marlon Wayans shared on social media.

The film will be distributed worldwide by Paramount Pictures in collaboration with Miramax, which was also involved in producing the first three films of the franchise.
