Charli XCX has officially said goodbye to her “Brat Summer” era, marking the end of a season dominated by her most successful album to date.

The Brat album, which became a defining trend of the summer, swept across TikTok with viral Apple Dance challenges, and even featured a hit single, GUESS, in collaboration with Billie Eilish.

The pop sensation took to social media platform X to announce the end of this chapter. “Goodbye forever, Brat Summer,” she wrote, signaling the close of a memorable period in her career. The album’s popularity soared not only on streaming platforms but also gained recognition on social media. In fact, Vice President Kamala Harris even used the track 365 in her campaign on social networks, showcasing the album’s wide-reaching cultural impact.

As Charli XCX moves forward from this high point, fans can only speculate what’s next for the artist who has redefined pop music with her unique sound and bold style.

“Brat summer is a state of mind, not just a season,” wrote fans on social media. Charli XCX herself elaborated on the meaning of “brat” during a podcast for BBC. For her, a “brat” represents someone carefree and a bit rebellious, describing the persona as someone who “might have a pack of cigarettes, a Bic lighter, and a white top with no bra.” She added, “You’re just that girl who’s a little messy, loves to have fun, and maybe says something silly now and then,” as she shared on social media.
