Welcome back to a world of monsters—where not all have claws and fangs.
During The Game Awards 2024, CD Projekt Red officially confirmed a new installment in The Witcher series. This time, players will not step into the boots of Geralt of Rivia but will take on the role of his adopted daughter and protégé, Ciri.
Following the success of their sci-fi hit Cyberpunk 2077, the developers are returning to their critically acclaimed fantasy universe. A fresh six-minute cinematic trailer for The Witcher IV reassured fans that CD Projekt Red still deeply understands Andrzej Sapkowski’s world. The trailer follows Ciri as she confronts a group of villagers preparing to sacrifice an innocent girl to appease their gods. By the end, Ciri—now a skilled witcher—declares that no gods exist in this world, only monsters.
While the game has no official release date yet, it’s unlikely to arrive before 2027. Titled The Witcher IV, it will be a direct continuation of the series’ narrative. CD Projekt Red has also confirmed they are developing spin-off projects set in the Witcher universe.
