Critics are hailing “Longlegs” as the most terrifying horror film in recent years.

The horror film, featuring Nicolas Cage as a serial killer, is set to hit U.S. theaters next week. The movie has already climbed to the top of Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect 100% rating. Directed by Oz Perkins, the son of Psycho star Anthony Perkins, this film promises to be a chilling experience.

Maika Monroe stars as an FBI agent tasked with solving the case. Her investigation proves to be incredibly challenging as the serial killer has eluded capture for a long time. As she delves deeper, she uncovers evidence of occult practices. The agent discovers a personal connection to the ruthless killer and must act quickly before he claims another innocent family.

One film critic wrote, “Wow! Oz Perkins has crafted an exceptionally dark and diabolical investigative thriller. It’s brutal. A film that lingers in your mind, under your skin, and in your gut long after it ends. This is Perkins’ best work to date.”

Another review highlights the horror’s impact: “I was fortunate enough to see Longlegs and, without exaggeration, it could be the best horror film of 2024. Oz Perkins truly knows how to get under my skin; this is his masterpiece. Monroe delivers a fantastically unique lead performance, and Cage? TERRIFYING. Possibly the most horrifying opening 10 minutes ever.”

The official U.S. premiere is today, July 12.
